Why it matters commercially

Two of the most common avoidable costs in Kenyan importing are container detention, charged by the line while you hold their box, and port storage, charged while your cargo sits at the terminal. Having somewhere to move goods to promptly is often cheaper than the storage itself. If you import regularly and do not have your own space, this is usually the fastest saving available to you.
